[Well, it would seem that Noct had completely forgotten about the food request that actually dragged Ignis all the way over here. And he doesn't mind it, at all. Noct's lips feel and taste like the best dessert in the world and Ignis just lets himself get lost in the sensations.
The hand on Noct's back sneaks under the shirt, but knowingly avoids the dangerous zone, and moves up, higher, short nails dragging across the skin.
It would've been the best if the shirt came off but he too doesn't want to break the kiss just yet.]
[Honestly it was pretty easy to forget about the promise of food when he had something so much more pleasant in front of him. Not even Ignis' cooking could stand up for the man himself.
Nails rake over skin, long, healed over wounds carefully avoided in favor of fresh, unmarred flesh. A sound rises up from burning lungs, falls from parted lips and he has to break the kiss or risk passing out from the lack of oxygen.
But his mouth doesn't still, traverses a sloppy, wet line across the ling of Ignis' jaw, shifts and settles into his lap to tease at his throat, ghosting over a pulse point in slow, lazy movements.
Then he's nuzzling into welcoming warmth, another deep sigh of rising and falling.
Is he seriously about to fall asleep in the middle of a make-out session? Probably. He's fallen asleep in weirder places.]
[Ignis sighs softly, almost verging on moan, at the feeling of Noct's lips travelling all over his jaw and neck. There are a few sensitive spots there that his love keeps teasing with his tongue and it's making him shiver every time he presses a kiss to it.
But when the kissing stops and is replaced by even closes snuggle against him, Ignis' long fingers thread in Noct's hair to keep him that way.
He won't mind if Noctis falls asleep- that's what he was supposed to be doing from the beginning. Ignis just needs to ponder on how to get him to the bed. In the meantime, he'll slowly run his fingers through Noct's hair.]
[It wasn't that he intended to fall asleep - actually his intention had been to spend the next hour or so getting Ignis to do incredibly sinful things to him.
But then he had made the mistake of nuzzling in, of breathing him in so deep and the warmth had been so comforting, so welcoming that he couldn't resist it.
Those fingers running through his hair definitely weren't helping, and before he knew it he was completely passed out. The only thing for it was probably just to shove him off and let him sleep on the sofa until Gladio eventually got tired of waiting for him in the morning and came pounding on the door.]
[Of course Ignis won't push him off. He's not heartless. In fact, it makes him incredibly happy that Noctis feels free and safe to fall asleep in his arms like this. Gently, he presses a kiss to Noct's temple and then maneuvers his hands around him and under his butt to hoist him up as he stands.
In a secure hold, Ignis slowly makes way over to the bedroom. He probably doesn't need to be silent, but it's a habit. Gently, he places Noct on the bed and untangles his hands from around his neck- only because he needs to get rid of Noct's daily clothes.
Once he's finished and has Noct under the covers, he quietly joins him, gently pulling him back in his arms. He didn't plan to stay the night but- he wouldn't mind waking to Noctis asleep in his arms.]
[He absolutely doesn't, because once Noct is asleep that's pretty much it until someone annoying enough manages to wake him, or he decides he's finally ready to get up.
He sleeps through the entire walk into the bedroom, through being jostled and maneuvered so his clothing can be removed. Does little but mummer in his sleep, quiet expressions of Ignis' name as he slips onto his side and eagerly seeks out that welcoming heat. He hadn't been lying when he said all he wanted were tacos and to fall asleep on Ignis.
But naturally that annoying person has to come along eventually and in this case, it's his phone ringing repeatedly because he's late for this stupid training session and he doesn't care at all. Mostly because the bed is cold and he knows, instinctively, that Ignis is supposed to be there next to him.]
[Well, the cold part of the bed in the morning is because Ignis is up bright and early to deliver on the promise from the last night. The sheets are cold, but there's a nice, spicy and savory smell coming through the slight creak of the open door to Noct's room.
Ignis is in the kitchen, preparing tacos for breakfast. Not the healthiest way to start off the day but- promise is a promise. He's currently in the process of wrapping them and also making a nice, light cheese dip too. He can hear from the kitchen Noct's phone ringing and if he doesn't get up in ten minutes, Ignis is more than ready to go drag him out.]
[They do smell good. Good enough that he's actually starting to consider waking up and making his way out to the kitchen when his phone goes off again.
And thank whichever god was looking out for him the day Ignis made him buy that stupidly expensive case because it's currently flying across the room. Along with a very distinct 'stupid Gladio' being muttered under his breath.
[Ignis was ready to go see if Noct was awake- when the all too familiar >thunk< reaches his ears. Ah. Yes, he's definitively awake. Not happy but trying.
The cheese dip and plate with warm, fresh tacos wait for Noct on the kitchen island behind Ignis as he stands by the counter and brews some coffee for himself. Noct can have some too if he wants, but Ignis knows he's not a fan of bitter things.]
Morning, Noct~
[Ignis greets him, happy when he hears the soft patter of Noct's over the wooden floor in the kitchen, announcing Prince's arrival.]
[Noctis currently had one single eye open a fraction, a tiny sliver that was barely visible beneath his lashes. Just enough to see and not bump into anything as he made his way into the kitchen.
Those were tacos he smelled.
His eyes open just a little more as he comes around the island, pressing up onto the balls of his feet and presses and sweet kisses to Ignis's lips.
Okay, so he thinks they're his lips. It might actually be his chin, but it's close.]
Morning.
[It's muffle and full of sleep, but as he makes his way around the island and perches on one of the barstools, it's clear he's at least awake enough to eat.]
Have I ever told you that you're the best boyfriend ever? [It's spoken in between bites, because honestly nothing is making him put this taco down.]
[Ignis 'helps' him out by leaning forward a bit and making those kisses actually connect. For all the complaints and groaning in the morning, Noct can be pretty cute and sweet like this.
Or maybe that's just because of tacos. He'll never know.
He joins him at the island, taking a seat opposite of him and a good sip of coffee.]
You have. [Right now. And yes, he's smiling into his cup.] I promised tacos, didn't I? I hate when I don't keep a promise. [Especially to Noct.]
You did. [How a person could possibly be as asleep as he currently is and still manage to feed themselves as well as he is right now is actually pretty impressive.
Distantly, he can hear his phone ringing on the floor of his bedroom and ignores it.]
Hey Iggy, do me a favor? Change my phone number. And don't give it to Gladio.
There will be no 'phone yeeting', Noct. [Ignis takes another sip of coffee, going through his own phone and reading news; just checking if anything important happened overnight.]
I would have to report that you lost your phone and you would get a new one on the same day. You remember the rules His Majesty and The Council set up when they allowed you to live outside the Citadel?
[Good grades, send reports reviews and always be available for a phone call.]
[He wants to argue that Ignis can't report what he doesn't know about.
Except even if Noctis hadn't just told him, he would know. Iggy always knew everything.]
I don't remember 'no yeeting you phone into a lake' being one of them. [It was probably in there somewhere, honestly. He hadn't really been paying that much attention.]
I just want one day where I don't have to be a prince and I can just be Noctis, you know?
I assure you it was, but it wasn't phrased that way.
[Ignis takes a deep breath, knowing where Noctis is coming from with that question, and seriously wishing he can help more than just freeing up Noct's schedule.
It doesn't help that Ignis himself is a reminder of things that are to come for Noct in the future. Can't forget you are a prince when you are staring daily into your own advisor.]
It probably won't help much, but I can try to free your schedule for the weekend, should you want to hang out with Prompto.
[Sometimes it was easy to forget that Ignis wasn't just his boyfriend. That technically, there was a very important role that he was meant to play in all of this.
It was like torture. Wanting to be around him so much, and yet the very sight of him was a constant reminder.]
[Prompto had the freedom with Noctis that Ignis will never have. Just being his boyfriend (or was he? it's hard to tell when it's forbidden), is already pushing boundaries at their seams.
So, in a way, he relates to Noctis and his wish to just be himself. Ignis can't remember last time they were just 'them'. Feels like a distant memory right now.
Ignis nods-]
I will see with the tutors today to reschedule your weekend material.
[Just being themselves wasn't a luxury that they were ever going to be afforded. Never for more than a few precious moments at a time. When they could be together like this, alone. But even then there were obligations pressing in, weighing dow on them.
He could hear one now, the sound of his phone ringing against as he sighed, slipping from his chair and grabbing his plate to bring it around to the sink.]
You know, Prom doesn't have to come over until Saturday. I could be free Friday night. If someone else was.
[They will always be there, despite Ignis trying his best not to bring them up. He always tries talking about mundane things like school, homework, arcade, whether the pastries he made were close to the ones he ate or no. He only ever brings up Citadel work when he has to. Because he was asked to.
Ignis finishes off his coffee and goes to the sink to wash the plate and the mug.]
I suppose I could find some time to drop by and prepare you guys some snacks. [...] Perhaps give it another go at those pastries.
[Noctis waits until Ignis is busy washing up to step in behind him, wrapping his arms about his waist and resting his head between his shoulder blades since he wasn't tall enough to peak over them.]
You're too good to me, Iggy. How can I ever repay you?
[Ignis' lips twitch when he feels hands wrap around him. He finishes up washing the dishes and dries off his hands so he can place them atop of Noct's.]
Well, those reports won't read themselves. There's plenty of time until Friday.
[He's half teasing, half being serious. He turns around in Noct's embrace so he can place both of his hands on his cheeks, rubbing his thumbs over the cheekbones.]
Just be yourself. That's enough of a payment for me.
